Prosper's fence rules
From the Town of Prosper's Fence/Retaining Wall/Screening Wall Permit Submittal (rev. 04/2025):
- "Maximum Fence Height may not exceed 8' measured from grade."
- Wood must be insect-resistant, "such as cedar or pressure treated yellow pine."
- Wood fences adjacent to and visible from a street "shall be constructed as board-on-board with a top rail."
- Posts: galvanized steel, at least 16 gauge, no more than 8 feet apart.
- "No fence or wall shall run longitudinally within a public easement."
- Fence footings may not encroach into required landscape areas by more than 12 inches.
